Iris Hayes remembers the V1 bombs coming down over London in World War II. They had their own special noise which they made. Although, it wasn’t the noise that the V1 bombs made that was frightening, it was actually the silence that was more of a worry. She remembers that fearing the nose dives was terrifying. It was a reason that they as a family were to be evacuated again.
