Terry Kirby remembers being hit by a shockwave from the Provisional Irish Republican Army bombing of Canary Wharf in 1996. Although he and The Independent staff were forced to evacuate the building, they worked in a nearby pub in order to produce a paper that day–unlike most other papers in the area.
