I was the last Westerner to speak to Khrushchev

 

Journalist Julian Nundy describes a rare meeting with former leader of the Soviet Union, Nikita Khrushchev, after he was deposed from power and only months before his death. With a bit of luck, Nandy was able to talk to Khrushchev about his memoirs that were smuggled out of the country the previous year, all the while being watched by the police and KGB.
