Germany Signs the Treaty of Versailles

On 28 June 1918, Germany signed the Treaty of Versailles. This peace treaty ended the war between Germany and the Allied forces in World War One and set up the League of Nations (a forerunner of the United Nations). The fall-out from this harsh treaty, and in fact all the peace treaties of WWI would have widespread implications in Europe and beyond. Here, we look at what was the build up and negotiation of this treaty between all the different powers that managed to conclude a world war.
