Obama has met the queen… there was one US President who didn’t

President Obama arrived in the UK this morning to celebrate the Queen’s  90th birthday. When Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom was crowned in 1952, Harry Truman was finishing his term as President of the United States. Since then the Queen has upheld the ‘special relationship’ with the United States by meeting 10 out of 11 sitting US Presidents–only excluding President Lyndon Johnson. Will she make it 11/12 in the coming years?

Take a look at this timeline for a glimpse at the meetings between the monarch and a rotating cast of chief executives (and their families) over the years.
